Initiated by two volunteer faculty members, Dr. Paul Blume and Mr. Frank Baker, the Photo Archive offers a unique means to better understand Hanover College, the local community, the Ohio River valley, etc. Through the eyes (and lenses) of various resources, we have the opportunity to glimpse into the past while preserving this visual history for future reference.
What was launched in 1990 from a small room full of donated photos has grown into an organized collection of thousands of images. In addition to prints and slides, the collection includes glass and film negatives of all shapes and sizes, Daguerreotypes and tintypes, stereo cards, student and employee ID photos, postcards, posters, scrapbooks, audio cassettes, 16 mm films, "lantern slides" and 78

To support research, teaching and the intellectual integrity of Hanover College by making available the archival collections to the College community and the general public.
The selection and donation policy at Duggan Library welcomes offers of pictorial materials of Hanover College and the surrounding region that may enhance our existing collection. We reserve the right to integrate the items as we see fit or deaccession items that do not enhance the collection. Please contact the Photo Archivist or the Archivist for further information.
The Duggan Library Photo Archives maintains the same hours as the Joseph Wood Evans Memorial Special Collections and Archives Center in the Duggan Library, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We ask that you make an appointment to look at photographs.
