Reporting the Results of an Independent Study

Independent Studies are kept as part of the Archives of the College.

As a graduation requirement for students enrolled in an Independent Study, it is the student's responsibility to file a paper copy with any accompanying media of his or her Independent Study at the Library.

The completed Independent Study must be delivered to the Director of the Duggan Library, to a Reference Librarian, or to another member of the Library staff (not to student workers). It may not be sent through campus mail or left in a mailbox.

The Director of the Duggan Library will issue a receipt to the student, with notification to the I.S. Advisor and Registrar.

The Independent Study should have a title page. The title page should include:

  • the title of the study

  • the student's name

  • the department

  • the name of the study advisor

  • the term and year the study was completed

The Registrar will not release a diploma until a copy of the Independent Study is filed at the Library.
