Joseph Wood Evans Memorial Special Collections and Archives Center

General Information

Introduction

Most materials in the Joseph Wood Evans Memorial Special Collections and Archives Center are open for use by the general public, Hanover College faculty, students and alumnae. The Archives and Special Collections collects, organizes, preserves and provides access to collections related to all aspects of Hanover College, the governing body and local parishes of the Presbyterian Church in southern Indiana, the Civil War, and the general history of the surrounding region. The books in Special Collections cover many topics including the Civil War, Indiana history, and local genealogy. There are also many historic bibles, theological texts, publications by Indiana authors, and other works focusing on geography and evolutionary science. In order to properly ensure the long-term accessibility and preservation of these collections, they do not circulate, and must be used by researchers in the designated Reading Room in accordance with the regulations specified below.
