In general, study carrels in the Library are reserved for Emeritus Faculty, College Committees, or for faculty who have no private space in which to work.
Applications for studies should be made in writing to the Director of the Duggan Library, preferably by email to: gibson@hanover.edu.
Studies will be assigned for one academic year. A study holder may apply for renewal at the end of the assigned period.
Study keys may be signed out from the Circulation Desk and should be returned there before leaving the building.
Studies have been furnished and equipped for faculty use. No furniture is to be introduced into them, except by arrangement with the Director's Office.
Food/beverage applicances of any kind (for example, a coffee pot) are prohibited.
The use of tobacco is prohibited in the Duggan Library.
Library materials that are not properly checked out may be removed from studies and returned to the circulating collection.
Unassigned carrels are open for the daily use of any patron of the library on a first-come, first-served basis. In such cases, materials (library and personal) brought into the study carrel must be removed upon leaving.
