Reciprocal Borrowing

Current Hanover students, faculty, and staff have reciprocal borrowing privileges at over 70 other academic libraries in Indiana, including IU, Purdue, Butler, and DePauw. To obtain a reciprocal borrowers card, fill out this application and return it to the Duggan Library circulation desk.

Community Patrons (Jefferson and Scott County residents)

Community patrons may purchase a library card for the cost of $5.00. Identification through a valid driver's license will be requested at the time of the purchase of the card, which is valid for one year. Community patrons may borrow books only, for a period of 14 days. Only 5 books may be checked out at a time. Fines of $0.30 per day per item are charged for overdue books, and additional fines will be charged for lost and damaged books.

Other Circulation Services and Policies

Holds: You may place a hold on an item that is currently checked out by bringing the title and the call number to the circulation desk. You will be notified when the item is returned and may pick the item up at the circulation desk. Please inform the circulation desk worker if the item is no longer needed.

Microforms: The library has three microform reader-printers available on the first floor. Microform copies are $0.10 each. You may use your copy card.

Renewals: Materials checked out can be renewed before the due date, by phone, by email, in person, or by using "My Library Account".

Reserves: Materials placed on reserve can be checked out for use for the period of one hour, unless otherwise specified. Items on reserve may be checked out at closing time for use overnight, but must be returned to the library at opening the following day. Keeping in mind the needs of other students, fines are charged for overdue reserve items at the rate of $0.30 per hour per item for the first day, and $5.00 per day per item for any following days.
